How to Help with Flood Relief in Ottawa/Gatineau

May 9, 2017

Hundreds of people have been affected by the recent record rainfall in Ottawa and Gatineau areas. If you are looking for ways to help out with flood relief efforts in the Ottawa/Gatineau region, here are some suggestions:

1. Volunteers will be needed in the next three weeks. Register as a volunteer online or in person at one of the Incident Command Centres:

  • Cumberland: Fire vehicle located at the corner of Morin Road and Phillip Road

  • Constance Bay: Paramedic vehicle located at 262 Len Purcell Drive

  • Britannia: Paramedic vehicle located at the corner of Grandview Street and Jay Street

2. Donate to the Salvation Army's Emergency and Disaster Services here.

3. Attend a City of Ottawa information session.

4. Contribute to the Canadian Red Cross Spring Floods Appeal here. You can direct your donation specifically to the Quebec Designation of the Red Cross Spring Floods Appeal here.

5. Check in with your neighbours to see if they need help. Whether it's lending a hand or an ear or your shoulder for support, every little bit helps.
